Where We Stayed
Sydney
Hotel was clean and comfortable, plenty of food within walking distance, right by the aquarium, but a bit of a walk to the Opera House.
Cairns
Beautiful hotel, close to the docks, plenty of food nearby, and a short walk to Kuranda Train Station. The concierge was amazing and scheduled us a last minute ATV tour with pickup from the hotel. Opt for a room on a higher floor so you can have a view of the water.
Brisbane
Beautiful place located right in the center of it all. Lots of choices for food and short walk to catch the boat to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary or the bus to Australia Zoo.

Mondo on the Waterfront
Cairns
Relax vibe right on the water.
Tasty place to have dinner while looking over the water.
Wharf One Cafe
Cairns
Great place to grab some breakfast or lunch while sitting directly on the water.
Hemingway's Brewery
Cairns
Located right on the wharf, this was a tasty place to grab some food and drinks. If you're staying near the wharf, this is not a place to miss.
Opera Bar
Sydney
Great food right next to the opera house, which means $$$.
Our Opera House tour came with a meal from here; while delicious I think the price would have been too much if it wasn't a package deal.
Dundees on the Waterfront
Cairns
A little more dressed up place to grab some food on the wharf.
Make sure to grab a reservation if you want a table at dinner time.
The croc and kangaroo kabob was a delicious plate, but they also have plenty of other options.
